    Hi all,

I've been researching potential new laptops and I keep coming back to the Aero 15x - I love the small size, it packs a punch, and it has pretty good battery life.

The one thing stopping me however is all the reports of insane temperatures (90+) and the subsequent loudness of the fans. I plan to use this both as a work machine (software development) and fairly casual gaming (Skyrim, Fallout 4, Civ).

I'm happy to do a repaste, but could anyone share their experiences with the above usage scenarios in terms of how hot the laptop gets and how loud it gets?

I'm this close to pulling the trigger on it, just want to be sure about the temperatures and noise. I'm also open to suggestions on any other similar laptops which are the "complete package" but perhaps are cooler/quieter when gaming.

You can purchase it without fear. Undervolt + repaste will basicially make it run cool enough (late 70s - low 80s degrees)

Thanks for the reply! Can you confirm what sort of gaming/workloads you do on your laptop with those sorts of temperatures? Also what sort of re-pasting you did - was it just on the GPU and CPU with the conductonaut paste? Or did you also do thermal pads?

And also with those temperatures, how loud is the fan and how hard is it working?

Don't have the notebook myself, but reviewers who did liquid metal repaste had played moddern AAA titles such as Witcher 3, Crysis 3, PubG, Fortnite, did video rendering tests such as premiere and handbrake.

All whithin high 70s to 80s.

I did see these reviews and it made me feel a lot better about the laptop, but I can't ignore all the user reviews talking about 90+ temperatures even after re-pasting. I guess is there anyone else that has the Aero 15x who has done a re-paste and can attest to better temperatures/more quiet operation?

Without repaste, the CPU does reach 90degrees, the GPU is around 80. I don't think you can expect quite laptop of this kind.

For myself i got the laptop off of its bottom and about 1-2" off of the surface. I used a temp solution to see any diff and noticed about 10c in drop in heat. I then went out and got a cooling pad and it gave me a few more C, at best, but at least now im gaming at 80c cpu gfx at mid 60c (fans@ max) so im not too worried anymore about throttling and hope to increase lifespan by a bit. But yeah, no way to have these laptops quiet and be gaming at the same time.
