I don't think Aorus did purposefully choose the Intel processor for it's integrated GPU.
Every Intel comes with it and certain high end processors shift from HDxxxx to Iris Pro.

So I'm quite sure there is no special intent and certainly not in light of DirectX 12 and it's cross brand multi-gpu rendering.
First of all it remains to be seen what developer will optimize for that and if they do it's not going to be anytime soon. Existing games? Not a chance in my opinion.

No you are incorrect. The cpu for the x7 has iris pro graphics. Not intel hd 4600
It is actually made for laptops without any gpu at all.
It is very expensive at least from our end.
And the broadwell chip the same. And these are two machines that cannot use the igpu. No optimus.

So it stands to reason they put them in gamer laptops because in thr future the best gaming cpu adds to the gpu
Its just we dont have that reality yet.

Read my words again and tell me where I was incorrect? Did I write the X7 comes with a HD4600? Nope, I don't see that anywhere. I wrote that each modern Intel processor comes with an integrated GPU, most often that's the HDxxxx one, on more higher end Intel processors it's the Iris Pro Graphics xxxx. I furthermore stated that in my believe the Aorus DID NOT pick the processor for it's integrated GPU, nearly all Haswell higher end processor carry the Iris Pro, so there is no purposeful design choice by Aorus. They don't get to choose which GPU it has. Hence it does not stand to reason this was a deliberate choice by Aorus and certainty not for the sake of DirectX 12 functionality in the event of some miracle of Nvidia lifting the incompatibility of Optimus in retrospect. I'm afraid your estimate is incorrect friend.
