I'm planning to replace my old laptop soon. It would be for everyday use and some gaming - I'm strongly considering Gigabyte for the combination of hardware, price and the fact that it doesn't scream "gaming rig!" when I have to take it to work (unlike, say, MSI). Inquisition is the only major resource-hogging game I'd be playing in the near future. I'm a pretty causal gamer and would consider good performance on medium settings acceptable. Any thoughts on whether the GTX 970M in the W v3 (or any other noteworthy difference) is worth the extra ~$350? I'm coming from a 4 year old Vaio with a low-end graphics card, so pretty much any gaming laptop is going to be a substantial improvement for me.

***edit, that was supposed to be P35G v2 vs P35W v3, not really considering P35W v2 since I haven't found it listed for substantially cheaper than the v3

I think thats a no-brainer, at least it is for me! The 970M should increase battery life, significantly reduce heat and kick the fans on less. Also, the chasis has been improved!

I'm in a similar situation as I will use it for work and don't want a big emblem that says, "republic of gamers" or "gaming series". I probably game much lighter than you but I don't feel like there is a good "middle-ground" until the 965m was announced today. I will either get the Gigabyte P34w v3 (January 15, 2015) or P34k v3 (February 2015)
