I've tried everything, directly from the install disk, from USB, with a different mSATA, this setting, that setting, always get errors either that a driver (USB 3) is missing or see the attached image for error message when I try a USB install. I understand I am trying to install an OS that does not have USB 3 drivers, and that they need to be included. Well, Gigabyte has a program that does exactly that, it slipstreams the drivers and install disc image on to a USB and you install from that, except I get error message see photo..

How hard can it be? Which hardware device, exactly, is creating the problem? Do they not make computers so you can install 7/64 any more? The BIOS even has a windows 7 setting, so you can install it.

Which freakin USB driver do I need? When I looked online, it seemed very unclear and vague so I tried a bunch and they don't work.

The USB 3 drivers are not required for V3. Only the V5 with Skylake required USB 3.0 driver for Win7 installation.

Try get a USB DVD drive and burn the image to a CD/DVD and boot from the disk and it should work.

If I remember correctly the Gigabyte laptops are having problems booting from OS on USB except their own recovery USB.

Thank you for the info. I'm not clear, if the USB 3 driver is not needed, why do I need to create an install DVD? I've tried an original Windows 7 install DVD and it doesn't work.

Did you try press F12 at Gigabyte logo? it should bring up the Boot selection box.

You could try to put the image on usb2 drive and install from that. Sometimes it should force the usb port into usb2 mode.

Not sure if it helps but something to try at least :)

Yes, I've done everything you are supposed to do to install an operating system. I know how to set the BIOS boot settings to whatever media is being used, is that what you mean? Anyway, I tried a local PC repair store and they couldn't do it either. Gigabyte says to send it to them and they will install Windows 7 but I really should be able to install it myself, it has a Win7 default bios setting.

I got it to run, from the F12 menu then the UEFI USB setting, does not install from any other setting in BIOS.

Glad you got it to run. :)

If you are install Windows 7 on Gigabyte V3 series you might want to set the boot mode in the BIOS to Legacy instead of UEFI. The BIOS is kind of weird that it doesn't support Windows 7 UEFI with CSM (Compatible System Module), the CSM is the simulation mode of UEFI for Windows 7.

So, if you able to install Windows 7 by booting from USB with UEFI and installed Windows 7 successfully the BIOS may still switch back to Legacy making Windows 7 not able to boot from your SSD or HDD.
