    HI all,
New to the, happy with the performance of the laptop and I don't mind about the heat etc as I am using a cooling pad for when its on my lap etc.

What does bother me is the fan noise and the subsequent throttle that occurs when I run the fans at low speed. Has anybody found a compromise here without opening up and changing the thermal paste. Effectively I am happy to run the machine hotter at the expense of the noise, anybody running a bios change?

Did you UV -60mv with XTU yet? Disable HyperThreading in Bios?

From my experience, disabling Hyper Threading won't help much with temps. Undervolting however, will. On top of that, consider limiting your CPU top clock speed using Intel XTU. The computer should be switching to integrated graphics when not gaming which should help as well.
