Has anything been released about a potential Aorus x3 refresh with the newer 9xx series cards? I haven't found anything in regards to these and was in chat with someone from xoticpc and they mentioned that it was announced but no details (release date or price). I've seen the x7 announcement but couldn't find the x3 one.

Aorus X3 models refresh with GTX 970M should happen but not sooner than early 2015 according to Gigabyte rep in UK:

But the Gigabyte p34w should be out early November with the gtx 970 for a few hundred bucks less. Xoticpc already has it up for pre order on their site and is something I might pull the trigger on. I had to return my X3 due to horrible wireless card.

I'm really stuck for choice between a P34W and the new X3 (when it's announced). I love the display on the X3 as well as the vents etc. I've found with my GS70 and 870m the GPU throttles so much and it's pretty frustrating. Worried the P34W would do the same :/

All I see was the Aorus x3 PLUS and x7....where are the regular x3 with 13.3"....I bet it's cheaper.

It's coming to overclockers UK for £1300 pretty soon. Still it's using a GTX870m though :/ We need the 900 series!

I have seen this as well yesterday, in the 3rd or 5th Google search page, mainly looking for the news on an Asian or east European website...

I have emailed them but no reply, neither from Aorus/Gigabytes.

I found really bizarre the GTX 970m with 6GB. Seems uncommon, but must be related to the screen absurd max resolution on a nearly not sub-14" machine. I doubt games could be payed on 3K with only 3GB. But anyway, even better for running games at 1080p :)

Let's keep alert, the "dream machine" (has cons as well) seems to be on the way!
I had loved a 14.4" screen, one Seagate super-thin 5mm SSHD (500GB) and why not, an upgradable CPU.

    ^^

Last week I noticed the AGear Notebooks site listed it as In Stock.

    AORUS X3 Plus v3-CF1 for Intel Core i7-4710HQ (2.5GHz - 3.5GHz) Quad-Core Processor

I called to confirm and they said that it was In Stock.

I ordered on Sunday night. I ordered it as-is with no customization. The website says it will take 1-3 days to process so no updated status on the order quite yet. We'll see what happens.

XoticPC followed up on a message a sent them about the model yesterday...
"At this time the release of that model is still a little up in the air. We are thinking in the next month or so, but nothing solid."

If AGear winds up not having it I just hope the refund process goes smoothly.

Hmm, probably a typo IMO. Doesn't make sense that they would be the only people to have the new models in stock...

Called today to check status and went straight to answering machine. Figured they might be out of the office for the holiday, but thought I'd give them a ring anyway. I'll check back next week.

AGear called me back today. They said the notebook will either ship out tomorrow or Friday. The person I spoke with on the phone was not aware of any delays. I will let you guys know once I get my tracking number.

I won't believe it until it is in your hands - as in, believing AGear has stock, not in what you are saying.

    Of course!
I feel the same way about it. Until it is in my hands, I am still skeptical. It would be awesome if they came through. Just hoping for the best.

I know there's been holidays, I ordered back on the 22nd so this is one heck of a wait, if it is really in-stock. If it shows up before the other retailers even post it for sale I guess it will be worth it though. :)

    Update!
    I got my tracking number!

It was dropped off at a UPS store that is about 30 minutes from my house. Too bad I couldn't just pick it up. :(
Most likely UPS will pick it up tomorrow, send it to their shipping hub and then I will receive it the following day. If all goes well.

Doing some Googling it looks like Canadian sites are listing a "X3PLUSV3-CF2" with a i7-4720HQ + 970m. Obviously all are out of stock but still interesting.

    Oh, two quick notes...
The track pad film that Aorus was sending out to folks that register their notebooks is now included. Also the power brick is smaller, it is ADP-150VB-B by Delta

I have the X3 Plus V3 in my hands and am still in disbelief that the 970 M is in it. I emailed Aorus 2 days ago asking them about it and they cant formally comment on it because it is a future release product. Maybe they had to wait till CES.

I am excited for the both of you! Thanks for the photos thus far. Keen to see the power brick just to see how much smaller it is.

Also, if you can comment on:

    - is the screen any better in terms of viewing angles?
    - does the screen wobble easily? That was one of the things mentioned in the previous 870M gen.

    Original Delta 150W AC Adapter for MSI GS60 2QE 237US ADP 150VB B Notebook | eBay

Seems to be the same one that comes with the MSI GS60 and GS70.

It is 150 watt which is a drop from the 180 watt that came with the original X3 Plus.

I unfortunately have to report that my X3 came with damage to it. Either a manufacturing defect, or it was scorched on the back corner. I have contacted AGear about it and sent pics. Attached is a pic of the damage as well as the power block. Deek, is it the same power block that you received? yimg-1106256704-1-1934729678.jpg

Deek. Did you notice if your keyboard is a bit warped? Dips down near the e key and again on the o key?
