I'm looking to sell my 2 year old Alienware 17 with TN panel, and hoping to upgrade to a slim gaming rig like this with a better screen. I wished the Razer blade Pro had a good screen, but reviews say its a crappt TN panel. I called Aorus and they claim the X7-Pro uses an IPS panel. IF the screen is beautiful and is an IPS, this could be the laptop for me. Any owners wanna comment on the screen?

By my knowledge that is an IPS panel with fairly good qualities.

That's the LG IPS screen part number :) see details here

    http://psi-lcd.en.alibaba.com/produ...7_3_LED_LCD_Screen_panels_LP173WF4_SPD1.html#!

    especially 'display mode: IPS'

note that not all IPS screens are equal, some are better than others, I strongly recommend you get a hands on experience, if I'm not mistaken this is the same screen used by acer nitro and asus G751, see review here http://www.notebookcheck.net/Asus-G751JY-T7009H-Notebook-Review.133178.0.html

and pictures of the screen from various angles here http://www.notebookcheck.net/filead...1JY_T7009H/Asus_G751JY_T7009H_Blickwinkel.jpg

hope it helps, happy easter :)

That's indeed the same panel (there's actually only one other 17" IPS, apart from the DreamColors). Mind that, while it's decent enough, the colour space of the non-DC IPS laptop panels is still subpar vis-à-vis the top TNs. If your current panel happens to be a good pick you may be in for quite a disappointment.
