Hey everyone,
About ready to pull the trigger on an Aorus X3+ v3. Going to pretty much max out the machine due to me currently living overseas (for work) in an area where it is tough/expensive to get high quality internals out here.
One of the biggest things I'm curious about is the battery life for the new v3. Based on reviews of the original it seems that the battery life was decent for this powerful of a machine (5 or so hours). Decent battery life is important to me as I do a decent amount of traveling.
I considered picking up one of the new Dell XPS 13 (2015) but really don't like buying something without a discreet GPU. I like the form factor of the Aorus X3+.
I do some gaming but also work in IT/Info Security for a living so work with several VMs quite often. Can anyone who already has the new machine comment on battery life at all? I'd expect it to remain the same or even improved with the better power management of the 900 series over the 800 but curious as to real life experience. Also anyone with the new one, has the build quality improved at all over the original? That was the other tick against the original product. If I'm going to spend around $4,000 for a machine I need to make sure it's going to work, lol.
Thanks for your thoughts!

Where/why would you be paying four thousand for this? MSRP is $2199. You can't really count any upgrades against that price though as you would be doing that to most anything you have.
My understanding is it is the same exact chassis just a revised motherboard. Everything else is the same. -
Im located in the Middle East these days for work, finding high-end internals is very difficult and if you find them the cost is usually significantly upmarked. So in this case I am taking into account the upgrades I'm having done to the machine. If I was back in the states perhaps not as I could buy them piecemeal as I found a good price, in this situation. I'm having everything basically maxed by a boutique builder. So after upgrades to the ram, hard drives (3 - 1TB Samsung 840 EVOs mSata), warranty, etc. - discounts it's going to leave the builder just a hair under $4000. I'm comfortable doing these kind of upgrades myself, and usually do, but can't get the parts here.

Hello guys..supposing you have only the Aorus x3 +v3 as your workpc.and is active for 8 hours.Do you permanently plug it To AC or you intermittently use battery juice and AC power...? What would you suggest to prolong the battery life for such machine.
Is there a diverting circuit to bypass once the battery is already full charged?.
