Aorus 15/17- Aero 15/17 and other with nvidia gpu 3000 series. Resizable BAR, Whisper Mode 2.0 etc.

I wonder if anyone has checked if there is support for Resizable BAR, Whisper Mode 2.0 about Advance Optimus I will not mention...

This technologies are listed in laptop specifications on Gigabyte site but doesn't factory supported.

I have Aorus 15p with rtx 3070 and in NV sys panel i see this:



Same with Whisper Mode 2.0 in Nv Experience app:


Can you check if you have active these technologies on Yours laptop?

 

Where to download these tools I can't find them.

 

@up for Resi BAR You can check i nv display drivers panel -> Help -> System info.

For Whisper Mode 2.0 just dwonload Nvidia Experience and install.

 

@up yes i known. Gpu support whisper mode, but in nvidia experience You can't set any settings...

Check if there is a bios and vbios update for this laptop on the support page. In order for resizable bar to be supported I think they need to add support from both ends in order to work. MSI laptops had similar issues earlier in the year.

 

@up I hope gigabyte will not forget about it... (there is no update at the moment)
I don't want to flash vbios from asus or msi gpu. I know that it works, but not completely, because it is impossible to switch gpu in the bios. Mux doesn't work anymore.

 

Gigabyte hasn't released an updated vBIOS for Resizable BAR yet.. so we will have to wait.. Not to mention there's been some debates around Resizable Bar actually causing more slowdowns than helping.. I wouldn't care to rush for a Resizable bar vbios just yet.

 

@Diversion I contacted with gigabyte's support and they don't even know what's going on... Aorus 15G KC with rtx 3060 have support for resi BAR from the factory (my friend has this laptop and seend me screen).

 

That is interesting.. could just be that they have decided to work on the 3060 model first for support and the rest of us need to wait.

 

Now I'm waiting for another answer from support. We'll see what they say about it.

 

Hey guys, did anyone manage to activate resizable-bar, yet? I've seen on reddit that someone claims he has managed to get it activated by simply installing the latest nvidia driver 465.89, but it definitely doesn't work for me (aero 15 oled xc). I have bios FB03/F001 and the latest gigabyte control center installed as well. Nvidia resizable-bar firmware updater says "graphics: unsupported". I have contacted Gigagybe support for a step-by-step guide, but didn't receive a reply yet of course (7 working days). However, I'm quite sure it should work by now, at least Gigaybyte has updated the info page for my laptop and lists resizable-bar as a feautre in the description, already.

 

I have been waiting for over a month for contact from gigabyte. In my 15P it doesn't work even on the latest drivers... We need vbios update from gigabyte not form nvidia.
Laptop bios update is unable to update graphics card bios.

 

the esupport has simply forwarded my message... seems like they are unable to answer my request themself.

 

I've received the answer about reBAR in rtx 3070 and 3080...

 

thank god you have not send it to the service center... this would have been very frustrating.
The support seems very bad to me, there is nothing the service center could have done for you

 

I contacted the rma support in Poland. I'll see what they say

 

most likely they will tell you the esupport is just stupid and there is nothing they can do for you, right now

still it's a no go to list it as a feature in the description of the laptops when there is no option to activate it, yet
