    Hi all,

My Aero 15x i7-8750H has been working perfectly fine since I bought it. However today, when using the gigabyte smart update program I noticed there was a BIOS update which I then went ahead with. I can only recall my current version was 6 and being updated to 7. I went ahead to update it everything kept running up until the end of the blue bar completing the install/update.

Laptop powers off by itself after the update.

I try to power on the laptop but no response from anything. With or without the charger connected, nothing happens. The only light that is constantly lit is the wireless signal/WiFi signal indicator on the bottom right of the laptop profile. Nothing else.

I’ve tried changing power sources. Pressing buttons while concurrently pressing the power button. Still nothing. No fan sound no start up absolutely no response from the laptop.

I’ve read online that it could be the BIOS flash failure.

Can someone advice, as I’ve been combing through the 311 pages of posts from the owners lounge thread one by one reading through everyone’s problems trying to find someone with similar problems.

I also read online that I have to remove the battery pack and power it off directly from the charger to wall, however I’m still finding a 6 edged screwdriver to remove the cover.

Thanks in advance to whomever replies!

Removing the battery for 30 seconds would be your best bet, this will reset the embedded controller and hopefully get your system starting again.

If that doesn't do it, you can try removing the CMOS battery in addition to the main battery. That will reset the BIOS settings to defaults and may get the system to start.

If neither of those work, you will need to either remove the BIOS chip for a manual flash using a bus pirate or a Raspberry Pi configured to do SPI flashing, or send the machine in for repairs.
