I previously had an msi gs60 ghost pro.
While I liked the build and keyboard, I wanted to get a 980m in a slim line.
The weight of the gs60 was great but I still have tolerance to purchase something a little heavier.

-other than screen size and weight (and the macro keys) what are the other major differences between P35xV4 and P37xV4?
-are the temperatures really that bad (according to what i've been reading) compared to other slim line gaming laptops?

    Thanks people.

Temps aren't very good on it, is there a reason you aren't looking at say a Clevo P650RG (Sager NP8658 in the U.S.)

tbh i'm not familiar with this brand.
what makes this brand of laptop good? any reviews for this specific laptop?
    thermals? speakers? weight? battery life?
thanks, and sorry for all the questions

actually looks like battery is only 60wh.
    the gigabytes are 72wh

Here is a review of the older model with a 970m. Basically the same just older cpu and no GSync. http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...650se-with-gtx-970m-htwingnuts-review.765376/

The laptop is great, if you like LinusTechTips he reviews it as the Venom Blackbook (just an Australian version)

Maybe checkout the P650RG and RE's owner lounge as well- http://forum.notebookreview.com/thr...8658-and-np8657-owners-lounge.782595/page-107

These gigabyte models are very similar other than the differences you already mentioned. If you are going with gigabyte i'd say go with the V5 for skylake, quite a few improvements over broadwell.

The temps can get up pretty high, I would recommend some premium compound on the gigabyte like IC diamond or similar.

    thanks.
I purchased a p35xv4 on amazon for just short of 1300.
I plan on opening it myself and putting a 256gb ssd as well as reapplying IC Diamon thermal paste on the gpu/cpu
    planning on undervolting as well.

    just screen size.

as far as temp, in terms of comfort level, it's bad and the fan goes to overdrive once the CPU/GPU in under full load. but so far, overheating or temp to dangerous level is not really alarming. it's just hot due to the thin frame which affects heat dispersion.

are you sure you got the GTX980M version and not the GTX970M? for that price, there isn't one available on amazon that suggests the GTX980M.

Is it true that the Gigabyte P55W has a very bad trackpad? I read iit cant use Win 10 trackpad gestures like showing all open apps by moving 3 fingers up on it. And that its not smooth.

    What are your thoughts?
