My wifi won't turn on anymore. I don't know what is causing this, as 2 things happened at the same time. When I turned on my computer today, my wifi switch was in the off position, which is really unusual, so I flipped it on, but still no wifi. There was also a windows update yesterday, and this is the first time I've turned on my computer since then. Something could have happened with the switch or my wireless adapter, but I suspect the update is the problem because my computer gives conflicting information about the state of the adapter. When I ran a diagnostic, it told me the adapter was not activated (suggested flipping the switch). But when I checked adapter settings, I saw that it was enabled. Something is lying to me, but I don't know what.

Just a few days ago I opened up the CPU case to clean out the fans and when I booted my computer back up there was no WiFi!! Thankfully, all I had to do was make sure the wireless switch was set to on and I pressed Fn+F2 and it worked!! Hopefully yours is that easy.

Wow it worked. Fn+F2 was a little wireless icon. Why we need a keyboard shortcut, a switch (that gets flipped too easily), and a menu option that all do the same thing yet can conflict with eachother is beyond me though. Repped.

The same happened to me as well of late. The Fn+F2 keys are more like a hardware switch. Once you press that or somehow it switches off, even rebooting or reinstalling the driver (thinking its a driver issue) is not going to fix it. You will have to use Fn+F2 to switch it on. So the first two steps to be tried before doing anything is 1. Check the wireless switch 2. Fn+F2 keys. 90 times out of 100 that should be the fix.
