I recently brought my laptop into bestbuy to get the gpu fan repaired/replaced because it was making a grinding/clicking sound and my computer was repeatedly overheating. After tons of time fighting with bestbuy about this and that, they finally figured out that the fan was the problem if though I told them that initially. Now that "the professionals" figured out what I already knew initially, they tell me they don't have the part and can't fix it. Does anyone know of any way i can procure the part/get it repaired/etc. If it helps, I live in New Jersey. Thanks in advance for your help.

Yeah if you have the warranty and they can't fix it, they should give you a new laptop.

I knew there was something I didnt mention. The laptop is no longer under warranty and calling gateway about anything is not an option because they no longer sell anything and all. I just really want to find a way to get it fixed so i dont need to buy a new laptop.

Supposedly no. From the best that could be had from a Gateway rep a while ago there needs to be some type of mod to support Quads. Unfortunately no one knows what the mod is. supposedly one user had limited success though with the 9c.23.00 bios but I am not sure how far they went with it. I know he staed bios post but no OS.............
