    s6240 beeping sound when standing-by/hibernating

    when i try to hibernate or standby my s6240 it makes this "beep-beep" sound. (actually my old s4540 makes this sound too)..just wondering if anyone knows how to disable this sound...it is a bit annoying when i try to standby the computer in class...

    You can turn it off in the BIOS under Advanced --> Miscellaneous Configuration --> Volume Setting

    I like it too, I keep it at minimum, it's a nice soft beep. I tried it at max, and it could get annoying.

    I wanted to disable it just b/c i use it in class and it seems like the whole class knows that i am standing by my notebook
