    hi.

Thanks for everyone's help with my Fujitsu S6120 purchase. I'm glad I made this choice. Today Fujitsu came to my university (Univ. California, Berkeley), and I saw their whole line of laptops: they were very, very impressive.
Anyways, my laptop will come tomorrow. My question is 1) will the laptop run fast enough with the current bundled software setup (my experience is that it lags the computer)? I'm thinking about doing a clean format on the hdd and installing windows XP pro. 2) Is there an advantage in doing this compared to default software setup? 3) Will XP detect all the hardware automatically? if not, the backup disc will have all the drivers i need, right. 4) anything i should know before i format?

    thanks again.

I wouldn't format. Fujitsu is very good about putting on extra crap.

Hi there! I am thinking of buying this computer. You love it? Do you find the screen and keyboard large enough? Is it best to buy from a place like Frys or from Fugitsu? What about their new model? The 7000 series? Anyone know anything? Read a tepid review of it on this website, but like the idea of the slightly larger screen size.......

I can't review for the S7000, but they are very similar to the S6000. Fujitsu came to my school and showed their full line of laptops and tablets. The S7000 is the same weight with a larger screen (14" vs 13"), bluetooth, and a few extra goodies. Assuming they are the same quality, then S7000 is a good choice for the extra money.

Check out www.laptopsinc.com if you want to purchase a fujitsu. I have not tried tech support yet, but their email response time is unbelievable. They literally responded within minutes every time I emailed them. Prices are good too. For my setup, it cost me 1514 shipped with ram upgrade. At fujitsu, the projected price was about 1700 after tax without ram upgrade. Frys is pretty expensive too (about 1625 for the same setup).

I bought the S6120D and have been using it for three weeks and I love it. I find the keyboard to be more than adequate. Don't understand the negative comments on the keyboard--perhaps some people pound down on the keys harder than I do (I am a hard and fast typer and have no problems). In fact, this is the best notebook keyboard I've ever used. My only quibble (a minor one) is the size of the period key...It's squished in...half the size of the other keys. I think it comes full size in the S7000 series (judging by the pics).

Everything else about this notebook rocks my world. The screen is gorgeous. It's quiet. And it runs fast enough for the apps I'm using. There is the odd delay in launching some programs, and at log on, but I think that's a windows xp issue.

    Hope this helps.
