    Hi all!

    I recently purchased an Amilo Xa1526 (Turion64 TL50 x2 1.6GHz + Geforce 7600 256MB + 2 GB Ram + Windows Vista)

My problem is that when I play a game even without overclocking of the geforce after 5 minutes it overheats then it downclock the CPU to 800 Mhz for some seconds until the ACPI gets under 80°C (when downclocked it takes only 5 seconds) after it gives the full power for 5 sec. then ACPI gets over 80°C it downclocks, etc...

Look at this screenshot you will understand : [IMG]

It's really a problem when you play you pass from a game with 30 fps to 15 then to 30 then to 10 every 5 sec.

But it's not the worst, the problem it that the fan never revs at the maximum even when it overheat it is fast but it can go faster (when you start the system it is more powerful). After the downclock when the temp is "normal" the fan gets the lowest speed then it panics when it overheats again.

The guy who programmed this ****in bios is really an idiot (I tried to make updates but no changes. It's not possible to modify voltage or frequency with any software, changing manually the fan speed is too impossible. I am really angry with this notebook.)

Has someone an idea of what I can do or someone have a similar problem?

You should look into undervolting ur cpu. I have the same one as you (OCed to 1.8 actually) and in gaming it hits 61* at the absolute max.

No it's impossible to undervolt it in the bios or with Notebook Hardware Control. I have also tried clockgen it reconize my chipset (Nvidia C51D) but if I try to modify the FSB it doesn't work. I tried to Nvidia Ntune but without success it can just monitor the frequencies. My voltage isn't so high (mesured with CPU-Z 0.8V at 800 Mhz and 1.1V at 1600 Mhz.)

adinu, what have you for software to undervolt and change to frequency?

Well, have you tried RMClock? That's the only thing that works for me and I got my 1.6 @ .925 volts completely stable. That's gonna be a huge drop off in temps if you get it from 1.1 to 0.925

    Thanks!

RM Clock worked too for me and 0.925 volts is too the most stable. 0.900 is unstable. And now I am looking for the 800mhz voltage. I am at 0.688volts on battery and it seems to be stable. My temp. dropped drasticaly. I didn't tried to play a game but in CPU stress tests it doesn't get over 67°C. What did you use to get the frequency upto 1.8 ghz?

    THX a lot!

For that I used ClockGen, but I am not 100% positive it will work on yours.

With that you have to select the right pll for your mobo so that you can control the clocks etc. For my Acer I found it by using google, so try doing the same for yours.

My PLL is locked on Nvidia C51 which is correct. I can set a different FSB but when I click on "apply" it is not really applied. In the monitor my FSB remains the sames
