Would appreciate if anyone know how to remove the keyboard on a T4010. I tried to pry off the bezel on top of the keyboard but it's so tight (especially at the right/left edge) and I didn't want to break it. I've removed keyboards on a lot of laptops (ThinkPads, Toshiba, HP, Dell, etc.) but this one seems tricky (well, I simply don't know the trick) and I could not find any service/maintenance manul for Fujitsu Lifebooks). Thanks.

I just finally able to take out everything of the T4010 today, and there's alot of tricky things in this laptop. Anyway, the bezel above the keyboard is the only way to remove it.

Edit: There is a screw in the middle I believe. But mine was taken off already

Really appreciatte your reply. Somehow I could not see the diagram/picture in your reply. Yes I did notice that the middle is impossible to pry off (usually a hint that there is a screw right there) but I could not figure out how to get to that screw. I already unscrewed two on the back and two on the bottom and took off a cap covering the swivel base but it seems to be right under the half circle shiny cover that I don't know how to remove. Would you have some more details? Anyways it's good to know the bezel is the correct approach. Thanks,
    cst

I thought you gave up or have succeeded since the post you made was long time ago, so I never check the post.

the keyboard is held down tightly both by the palm rest and the bezel. There are no screws that holds the keyboard down. And you can't take the palm rest out as there are few screws below the keyboard that holds the palm rest down.

the screws on the bottom of the laptop is just used to hold the palm rest. I notice there is a hole below the circle shiny thing, and directly below it is another hole that looks like there should be a thin screw there. So that why I think there may be a screw below the circly shiny thing. but there is no way a screw can go from bottom of palm rest to bezel because you still can't take the palm rest out yet.

the bezel is hardest part of the laptop, the rest are bit easier afterward.

oh also, the shiny thing is just more like a thin metal/like sticker. I guess it's just a bit hard to take it out since it would probable show sign of bent if taken out with force.

Thanks for replying again. Well, I think I probably should give up :) but it just feels so stupid/frustrating that taking a keyboard out would be this difficult!!! I've done this for so many other laptops.
Just one more try. I still could not follow some of your comments. I pried off both ends of the top bezel out but the middle portion is so tight that I feel there may be a screw under the circly shiny plate. You seemed to say no there is no screw afterall. Is that correct? So I should still be able to take off the top bezel as the first step?
The next step is to take the palm rest out? I did try that by taking all the bottom screws out but I remember I also got stuck somewhere (maybe the top bezel? or the LCD? don't remember exactly) so I stopped.
    Appreciate your help.

hehe maybe I did confuse ya. I believe there is a screw below the shiny plate, and it connect to the palm rest piece.

here are steps to make it simplier:
    -bezel out
    -keyboard out
    -remove hard drive and battery
-all screws from base off, including 3 small screw near optical drive, another 1 screw after you take battery out.
-a small chip random board below the bezel out. this thing is between the bezel and palmrest
    -remove mini cpi
    -lcd out+screws
    - remove 1 small screw below bezel AND 1 below keyboard to remove palm rest.
-finally palm rest out and touchpad
-remove some square chip, looks like its bluetooth but mine dont have bluetooth. Modem is somewhere else.
-metalic plate below the keyboard out.
-The rest is simple enough, theres nothing much left.

this may also help ya :)

Just an update. Ok mission accomplished, finally. The real trick is the screw under the circular shiny plate around the swivel. Same as other Fujitsu laptops (one screw lock for the keyboard), remove that screw and everything else follows pretty easily.
    Here is what I did:
    (1) pry off that half circle shiny plate carefully, it's really plastic taped to the bezel, and you don't even need to take it off, just half way enough to take the screw out; then press it back in place.
    (2) after that it's relatively easy to take off the strip bezel on top of the keyboard, starting from the middle portion (much easier than trying to start from the ends);
    (3) after that take the keyboard out starting from the top; as mentioned it's taped so you need to apply some force carefully; after the top side is off with an angle take it off and of course watch for the keyboard connector it's on the middle left under the keyboard.

That's it, as "SIMPLE" as I had expected :), if I knew where the locking screw is!

    Thanks for all the input/comments/help.
