Well, it finally arrived. It is a very nice looking laptop. When I first turned it on, I found one dead pixel near the center top of screen. Is it worth returning? Does this mean the display might be defective, and more dead pixels to come? I just hate to spend so much money and not have something perfect.
My husband has been playing his RC airplane simulation game on it a lot. He said it is working just fine. He likes it so much, I hardly get to use the computer.
It is not a silent machine, but the fans aren't too annoying. My desktop is louder.
The battery life is less than 2 hours. I guess it will be plugged in most of the time.
I did get the t.v. tuner to work. I hooked up my cable to the adapter, and then directly into the computer. I got it to work okay, but the picture quality is horrible. Does anyone have any suggestions, or is this as good as it gets. And, yes, I made sure the connections were very tight.
My router hasn't come yet, so I haven't been able to get online to update drivers and register things yet. Once I start using it more, I will write more. I'm sure I will also have more questions.
Oh, one other thing. I'm not sure if I like the 1440x900 resolution. It is a little small if you are trying to read screen sitting back about 2 feet. I'm 35, eyes may be failing. :)

    Hi,

Thank goodness my laptop didn't come with any dead pixels. I would be annoyed if there were any defects, even a small one, especially since it cost more than a month of my paycheck!

I think the 1440x900 resolution is great for me! Actually, a lot of people were here were complaining about how the resolution was not large enough, but I was so glad that it's this size or else I would have a hard time reading! My brother's computer resolution is much larger and it gives me a headache to read from his computer.

One dead pixel is not an indication of things to come. I'd send it back if the retailer will take it, who'd you order from?

i got my n6010 a week or so ago. love it and the screen is awesome. but i noticed also that the picture when using the tv tuner is horrible, and the picture when using the dvd player is not that good either. don't know why suich a sharp screen is displaying dvd and digital cable so poorly. is this as good as other laptops with tv tuners and dvd players. am thinking of returning it and getting the hp zd8000 which has a higher resolution screen. anyone else have opinion on this.

    Brian,
I got mine from Portable one. They said Fujitsu considers anything under 5 dead pixels a good screen. They (P1) did offer to have me send back the whole computer, and they would replace just the screen. I've had it less than a week. It came with the bad pixel out of the box. I think I should get a new one. Either way, I don't really want to send this clear across the country, and also I don't want to wait. So, I guess I'll just live with it.
About the dvd player. The picture is not sharp. I am trying to figure out if there are other settings I can change, but I don't want to mess anything up. I'm assuming that Fujitsu sent it with the optimal settings already as default.
