well, i'm a student on tight budget.,.,

due to budget ans Portability constrains.. i've choosen Fujitsu S2110, haven't bought it though

    my main use?

    Net-surfing
    MP3s
    Watch Videos
Gaming - not very graphic intensive games, just play Warcraft 3, and Fifa WC2006.

    is this notebook sufficient.....?

... also... can i upgrade the graphic in the future with ADD-on cards??

Graphics cards are not upgradeable. I think for what you are doing it will be fine. The Turion will not perform as well as the Core Duo.

This will do just fine for that usage. Be aware though that the fans on fujitsu S series seem to wear out too quickly - many have reported that they loud after about one year old. Seems the bearings get worn - probably becasue their fan algorigthm is too aggresive.

So beware of that and either get a 3 yr warranty or sell it at about 11 month. Or get something else....

But the first year is pretty good with these.

    hmm.. tahnks for the tip..

well i don't fancy high end stuff...

on my desktop, i'm using GF 6200 , previously was Gf 2 MX for 3 years.....
i'm quite happy with GF6200.... i hope this 200m is not too far off.... because base on 3dmark... ati 200m is *three* times weaker than my GF6200 ..

anyway.. i'm happy to play most games at 800 X 600, so 200m would be fine , i assume..?

because i'm also considering Compaq v3000, everything's faster... and it's cheaper...

the only thing bad bout compaq v300 is that it's heavier than s2110, other than that, it's fine...

    Compaq is a joke.
GF6200 only two times stronger then 200m.
S2110 is the smallest notebook you can find and very durable and cool looking.
It runs cold all the time but gets warm/hot when you play games. It will run on 600 MHz more then 4 hours with brightest on 70%.
Usual price for it 1500 US$. But now you can find it for less.

I took mine from 512mb to 1.26gb of RAM (with 128 of that dedicated to video) right off the bat. Everything else normal - 4200rpm HD, etc.

That said, it performs great. I don't do much gaming at all - I did recently install Sid Pirates (not super demanding though) and it was very playable. Everything else is just fine. Office apps, email, videos, internet, even stuff like flash studio, all the usual things are plenty speedy.

My problems with it are how it dissipates heat on the bottom so it can get pretty warm there (not the best for lap use), and how easily it smudges and fingerprints everywhere, screen, cover, palm rests, it doesn't sound like a big deal but it gets nasty often and fast.

Pretty satisfied with the laptop overall.
