I was wondering if intellipoint is really useful at all to have, i got an Intellimouse explorer 4.0 the usb optical mouse with the tilt wheel and the two side buttons, i'm not sure but isn't there a way to adjust touch pad settings for the scroll buttons and everything? with intellipoint installed my scroll button doesn't do anything, and with intellipoint installed i can't use the wheel as a third mouse button in Softimage XSI which is pretty wack. i think if i uninstall intellipoint i won't be able to use my two side buttons for Firefox and internet explorer for forward back etc. and maybe not the tilt wheel?

so is there a way to adjust touchpad settings? is there a way to adjust mouse settings and controls in XSI? or am i just going to have to sacrifice a certain function of my mouse? also i think the scroll button works without intellipoint, is there any way to disable intellipoint for a period of time and then enable it again?

please help me or i will be sad.
    -thanks

If the software takes over the touchpad settings then there is no way, as far as I know.

My logitech, on install, detects that there is a touchpad and has it's own settings and so it asks if I want to use one set of settings for both, or let each have its own set of controls. I guess microsoft don't have this feature! :(

ok this post is now useless which is a good thing! i just installed intellipoint 5.3 and they have more functions for each button of the mouse. set the wheel button for autoscroll and everything works brilliantly, Softimage XSI recognizes it as the third mouse button, my scroll button on my touchpad works, and i am not sad anymore.

figuring stuff out is a pain in the ass. <<<<<<quote of the day

and intellipoint 5.3 lets me adjust button configurations for any program now too so they definitely improved there software, touche microsoft, you already had a fix to my problem. tell william gates i said thanks and that he owes me $40.

It is annoying for me.....The two buttons below the pad should be used for right click and left click while the pad should be used to move the cursor....in my opion.

yes...they do. I just dont like it when BOTH the touchpad and the buttons below the touchpad share the clicking function. Tell me how to disable clicking using the touchpad and i will consider mailing you $40.

i just figured out how to disable the touch to click feature Nandor, but first a question for you? have you installed another mouse software like intellipoint?, if you have then you must uninstall your touchpad driver, usually in c:/program files, mine was called apoint2k and i just ran the uninstall program, or you can go to device manager and uninstall it there, i restarted my computer, put in the fujitsu drivers cd and reinstalled the touchpad driver, restarted my computer than went to control panel mouse, and walla! i could adjust touchpad settings again, i had no idea my touchpad had a scroll feature on the right side and bottom (a drag to scroll, alot like 2 finger scrolling on an apple but sexier) thanks for making me do this and i will be gladly awaiting the $40 response.

haha that's cool i guess^ :) but a good bit of info on intellipoint and other mouse software on notebooks or atleast mine, is that when you install intellipoint for a usb mouse or something if you want to add your touchpad settings to intellipoint you must uninstall your touchpad driver, restart your computer, windows will find the new hardware on restart, then you install the driver again with the driver cd's or from fujitsu's website. then restart and start intellipoint and your touchpad settings will be added to your control panel/ hardware/mouse settings and intellipoint.

took awhile to figure out and after i did, i got on Fujitsu support chat and some fujitsu dude named mike told me that would work and i did it and it worked like a charm.

that is $40 dollars worth of knowledge right there.
