    hi,

I have a fujitsu lifebook E6595 that I use for downloading but recently my hard drive speed decreased. before I have this problem,I could copy files with the speed of 8-10 MB but now its 3MB and it seems there is delay.I tested my hard drive on another system with a IDE to usb2 cable and I could copy files with speed of 10-15 MB.
I tested my hard drive with hd tune and the graph was like \/\/\/\ ,where peak was 20MB and lowest was 5 MB,I mean it increased and suddenly speeds drops and again increased.I also scanned it with HDD regenarator and it found several delays and one bad sector, but scan was not completed due to some error.
also I'm using windows xp and after I found out my problem I formated my hard drive with low level format(formating with zeros) and installed another xp,but my problem didn't go away.
so is it my hard drive that have a problem or something with my laptop is wrong?

Like you said, hard drive has bad sector(s). They will not go away, instead they will multiply and eventually the drive is unusable.

Replace the broken drive, that's the fix :)

thanks for your reply,I formated it again, and scanned it with hdd regenarator and it just found one delay and no bad sectors.
If my problem is because of my hard drive, when I use this hard on another system with a ide to usb2 cable(as an external hard drive) it should have low speed, but it doesn't ! I can write files into my hard with speed of 10-15MB/s .
Is it possible that this problem is caused by something other than hard drive? like ide controllers or faulty driver ?

Anything is possible. If I replace like 150-200 hard drives, maybe one or two computers would need motherboard replacement instead. One exception, computers with nVidia nf430 Chipset. Some of them corrupted drive contents before breaking down completely.

If you can borrow a confirmed working hard drive, installing windows on it doesn't take much time and it will quickly tell you if it is the problem or not.
