Not to mention they don't "whine" like Intel chips....and NO, I am not biased, I like them both. Without AMD, Intel could just do "whatever" and that's never good. Competition is necessary. I do wish AMD would get some direction though....they seemed to be better guided around 2000.

I wouldn't say much better, but in most processor dependant tasks, the Core 2 Duo comes out on top. Generally, in day to day use there is no difference between the processors. So long as you have a dual core processor, you should be fine with any processo you choose.

I would say we need more information. You're question is like asking whether a Ford is better than a Chevy. A good question, but each person has their own opinion, and there are many specific models within each with their own benefits and drawbacks.

There are C2D's that outperform TX2's, and there are TX2's that outperform C2D's. Comparing clock-to-clock performance, C2D's win, having better overall performance at equal clock speeds to that of TX2's. Comparing dollar-to-performance, TX2's win (AMD has generally always given better price :performance, which equals a better value, but you won't see that benefit unless you are paying for the processor independently- building your own system).

I suppose a fair blanket statement would be that most C2D systems offer better performance while sacrificing value. I regularly see $400 TX2 systems on sale at local stores (CC, OD, etc..), something you rarely see in C2D systems. So, to each their own. :)

thanks joey for the great link.
I think its worth to consider Tx2 as it is much more cheaper with comparable performance. Anyway do you guys know that shrek movie was made using AMD...
