When in my Amilo Xi 2428 a newer BIOS version (1.11c) allowed for 4GB RAM (instead of the original 2GB), its "official" datasheet got updated in the FSC website. That's why I sticked to it; I noticed the latest BIOS for Xi 1554 was not as fresh as 2428's last release (03/05/08 vs your 07/19/07). Plus, the RAM manufacturers' Memory Configurators had started giving me a max of 4GB, while in the Xi 1554 case:

There is a possibility that the program (Everest) identifies the chipset and provides its default spec. It is true that i945PM does support up to 4GB RAM: http://www.intel.com/Products/Notebook/Chipsets/945PM/945PM-overview.htm, http://compare.intel.com/pcc/showchart.aspx?mmID=145&familyID=7&culture=en-US; my only wonder was whether this specific implementation (that is, the motherboard used on the Xi 1554 in combination with the BIOS) allow for those 4GB to be used.

If you want to install more than 2GB of RAM you need Alienware BIOS. FSC hasn't released BIOS update to support more than 2 GB. Also, even though T7600 is almost similar to T7200, the BIOS may not support higher frequencies. That HDD upgrade has the best propability to work, while graphics card has the worst. You really can't upgrade the card to better than what it already is. There are other things to consider than just the card's fit (see mxm-upgrade site). And I suggest you to search and/or post to Amilo-forums and Official FSC forums to get more info about memory, HHD and CPU upgrades. Also note that, if you plan to install Vista 64-bit, you may have some difficulties finding working drivers for it, since FSC doesn't officially support it. Drivers found on FSC site are only for 32-bit Vista.
