    Hi All !

I am new to this forum. I have a german version of the lifebook S6410 and I was wondering, if I could stick a DVD drive from the US Model S6510 into my S6410. I order to be able to order the part from Fujitsu, could anybody

post the Fujitsu partnumber of their DVD drive in the S6510 ?

    Thank you so much.

Do you need the complete media bay module or just a new optical drive to replace whatever you have? The drive itself is a standard component.

    Hi John!

Well, the media bay would be better, so I can swap between the 2 drives. On the other hand, depeding on the price, it might be worth swapping the drive itself, if it is not too much hassle. But to find out the price for the media bay, I need a US partnumber.

For the background: I have many US DVDs and I am looking for a legal way to watch the US DVDs and also the European DVDs.

    Thank you for your help

Not the answer you were looking for, but Google for LtnRPC then consider getting a Liteon drive and putting in the media bay enclosure. The Liteon EU website doesn't list any internal slim drivers but there are some external units. You could try one of them. If it works OK then a few minutes and a screwdriver will convert it to internal. Or you may decide to use the internal drive for one region and the external drive for the other.

AnyDVD will remove the DVD region code and probably costs less than a new drive.

Thank you John. That might be the way to go. I was thinking about something like :

    1. Watch a German DVD
    2. Swap the bay drive to the US drive
    3. Watch a US DVD
