http://www.intel.com/design/chipsets/applnots/302623.htm

DVMT - Dynamic Video Memory Technology.

In simple language, meaning if your application demands more it uses more of the shared memory, if not, uses the minimum, something like SpeedStep, but for memory.

The S series would be perfect if only they had dedicated graphics... I would definately get one then.

Another benefit for those who waited was that they can now make even better by putting a 7k100 harddrive in it. 40 more gigs for bloatware! [ :)]

quote:
How many refreshes of the S6/7 line is it gonna take before someone at the design team realizes that this little 25 cent led is necessary to be able to see the screen under dim light conditions!

Those at the "annoy qwester" design team have found their niche. I think they consider information presended there to be of secondary importance. With my old laptop, when booting up, I knew to not try and do anything until the harddisk access led went out. This took about 1-2 minutes. Now with my 6231, returning from standby after two seconds the internet is active. Tilting the notebook up I can see the icons and granted, a capslock led would be nice, but it's not something I have to have.

[ :(]Looked at the link in the first post- any info. on the pricing for the s7020- the US pricing in the Cnet article seemed absurdly high. Any info. on real pricing?

Any members here from HK or Singapore? I'm going to be in HK and Singapore in mid June and I'm wondering if there's a reputable store anyone can recommend. Thinking about buying a S7020 while I'm there, but I'm a little concerned about warranty... anyone know if Fujitsu here in the US would accept warranty claims for a machine bought outside the US? I'm guessing no...

Singapore is expensive. I was there in march checking the price of Fujitsu, it's a abit expensive than thailand.
