    Hi,

I'm going to buy a Fujitsu S6520 recently. One thing that confused me a lot is most of the non-US fujitsu website says it has the LED back light but in the Fujitsu USA website it doesn't say a word about it. It only shows Crystal View LCD.( But the P8010 model states LED backlit on the website) Does the US model S6520 have the LED back light?

    Thanks & Regards.

Yes I think so, Fujitsu wouldn't chuck in a less-good screen for one of their bigger markets in one of their top models.

Maybe, it is time for advanced members of this forum to get their hands on this puppy and do a thorough review?

For the S6510, the model I saw in person definitely did have a LED screen. And the link zunq posted, it does say LED screen.....hmmmm?!? What is happening? :p

fujitsu has always put above average brightness monitors on their notebook, so high brightness doesn't necessarily mean that it is led.

I sent an email to fujitsu customer service two days ago about this question and didn't hear a word from them yet. Just found out this linke http://www.fujitsu.com/au/news/pr/fpcap_20080716.html that says the S6520 Model has "fabulous 14.1” Wide SuperFine Back Light LED screen " ...... The keyboard is white on US model, but this one is black.

Yes, fujitsu's asia pacific models tend to be alittle different to european and north american models.

As John Ratsey already pointed out, I contacted Fujitsu to ask them about the backlight on my S6510. Technical support was unsure of the answer, so they contacted engineering. They subsequently stated that according to documentation it is not a LED backlight.

I have been overwhelmingly pleased with my notebook so far though. The news was disappointing, but it hasn't changed the fact that I have an excellent notebook with a sufficiently bright and uniform display.

I have had the 6520 for about a month. Screen is spectacular. I don't know if it is LED or not. There is a Fujitsu Display Manager on the the desktop for easy changes of display. It includes Presentation Mode which is uncomfortably bright for regular use. Even in the regular mode I throttle back the brightness slightly.

If you want I can probably identify the Display via PC Pitstop. Let me know if you need that.
