I am currently considering buying an U810. I would like to ask for the experience of those who have one already. I am currently using a Toughbook 72 (Semi-rugged) 1.6 GHz machine to do pretty standard computing duties like office applications, web surfing, movie watching, picture handling, etc. I am looking for a capable machine that is compact, has a touchscreen, is reliable, and runs the applications that I use with relative ease.

So far I am figuring that I need to get the model that has Vista Business and use the XP CD to "downgrade" to XP. Although I don't think going to XP is a downgrade I think I will give Vista a try but if it goes anything like my wife's experience I will probably ditch it.

    Questions:
    1. What works better for real on this machine... Vista or XP?

    2. If Vista is a burden is there tweaks for it to get it to run well? Maybe outperform XP?

    3. Generally how fast is the 810? I know that it is only an 800MHz machine but does it hold its own with normal applications?

    4. How hot does it run?

    5. Is it fragile or does it seem durable?

    6. What are your favorite points?

    7. What is the worst part of it?

Thank you for your time. I appreciate any help here.

    Matt

    Hi
I will recommend to you install XP's because taking less memory.
For vista you need 2GB ram min.
And CPU is slow on that U810
