    Hi, I need a little help. Just purchased a Fujitsu P770 i3-330.
Asked the vendor to increase the existing RAM (2GB) and they gave me a Kingston 4GB PC3 10600 CL9 RAM module.

Got multiple blue screens, and a lot of problems with the machine. So they swapped it for a Samsung 4GB 2Rx8 PC3. It still doesn't solve the problems.

(By the way the notebook runs COMPLETELY OK without the upgrade RAM module).

Can anyone help advise me what RAM chip is ok with this particular model notebook? Its installed with win 7 home premium.

Appreciate any and all help i can get. Cheers.

I have the P770 i7, and have used both Kingston and G-Skill 4Gb modules to upgrade it. The G-Skill is internal - I had to remove a LOT of screws to get at it and make the change. I also had a 2Gb module at first for a total of 4GB, and that one was installed and ran without issue.

Both 4Gb pieces are DDR3 1333 PC3-10666, and both worked just fine from the get-go. No issues. I don't recall what speed the 2Gb piece was, or what the original 2Gb piece that came with the laptop was.

Any idea exactly what the original 2Gb module is? Maybe replacing the internal module with one of the 4Gb pieces will help?? Just guessing here, I am very surprised you are encountering this issue.

    Hi rfielder, thanks for responding.

I think i may have solved it, and so far so good. There were apparently 2 problems.

    1) First, the additional RAM was giving me problems. I took it out, cleaned it carefully with a soft brush, as well as the RAM slot. Although i couldn't see any dust, something must have been clogging up the contact points. After i had done this and reinserted the RAM, there was a HUGE decrease in number of crashes. About 70% of the crashes may have been because of this. I danced a little jig at this point.

    2) Second, I had assumed that the vendor had provided me with all the appropriate drivers installed. Not so. I had to go to fujitsu website and carefully go through the list of drivers provided by them. Although my notebook came with an intel video accelerator, i couldnt use the driver from the intel website. Fujitsu had a customised driver for my notebook. I updated this driver.

These 2 steps have solved almost all my BSODs.

The others appear to be caused by specific applications. I think the problem lies with compatibility of 64 bit apps. For example, Im having trouble with Picasa 3.8 which crashes the computer when scanning for pictures in the hard drive.

You have any problems with specific apps?

    Cheers.
