in the vista helpfiles it states
"The recommended amount of memory to use for Windows ReadyBoost acceleration is one to three times the amount of random access memory (RAM) installed in your computer."
i have a 2gb sandisk SD extreme III already inserted into the built in 4-in-1 flash card port supporting SD/MS/MMC/MSPRO and was wondering if there was anythig faster still and in the 4gb range?
i see sandisk have an extreme IV range but they are compact flash and are not supported unless i buy another reader which im not looking at doing.
so is the extreme III sd the fastest available? or are there other brands out there with better speeds above the stated 20mb/s min.
thanks

SDHC supports 4GB and beyond, but your media card reader may not support SDHC (I have discovered that the Ricoh reader in my Samsung Q35 supports SDHC under Vista but not under XP). I've got a 4GB SDHC card which is class 4 (nominal 4MB/s) and has much the same speed as the Sandisk Extreme III 2GB (see the attached). Class 6 SDHC would be faster but I haven't seen any cards with that rating. Your alternative is a high capacity USB stick.

SanDisk Extreme IIIĀ® SDHC 4GB
as quoted on there website about this sd card...
Since speed class 6 is currently the highest rating defined by SDA, it doesn't necessarily mean that a speed class 6 is the fastest card that a consumer can buy for all applications.
By contrast, SanDisk's minimum performance rating of, for example, 20MB/sec on Extreme III cards states the performance level that those cards will deliver for sequential write and read operations in non-real-time applications such as file transfers between a card and a computer or in digital cameras between the camera's buffer and the card. In this case, the statement of performance allows customers to make a relative comparison between cards of differing performance and price points. SanDisk Extreme III cards are also speed class 6 rated.
Class 6 speed performance rating ( based on SD 2.0 specifications)
so presume my 2gb sd extreme 3 card is also class 6..yet theres a compact flash extrem IV which is faster so that must be class 7
looks like for now im at a dead end -
