Anyone know if the Lifebook P770 will see 8Gb memory modules, giving a total of 16Gb with two installed?

    Thanks!

Doubt you'll see anything official. If you need that much memory and have the money, then you ought to just try it out and tell us (unless anyone has already done this).

I did a search, and can not find them for sale yet. A lot of motherboards (I am looking at home system upgrades) and newer laptops are advertising increased memory capacity, but it seems the actual memory modules are not yet available.

My P770 is running with 6Gb. Rather than upgrading it to 8Gb, I may wait until the larger modules are available, and see what is possible.

There are 8GB modules for sale, they just run at a couple thousand dollars each. There are a few threads about them in the hardware section.

...that may be why none of the retailers I deal with list them yet! :D

Guess I will wait a bit before looking further....this P770 has turned out to be a real workhorse, far better than I had ever hoped for. Rather expensive, but so very nice to be able to say I got what I paid for!
