Is there a way to adjust the screen brightness in Win7 without having to restart?

I've loaded the Hotkey drivers, and audio and functions work fine but the screen brightness has no affect, at the moment you have to change power plans then restart.

ok found this app thats seems to work

Desktop Lighter: Monitor brightness quick tuner

only problem is to adjust brightness you need to use the ctrl < > keys, which is easier than the Fn F6 and F7. I dont know how this app works, might just be adjusting the gamma so i dunno if you are going to be saving battery life with it.

I have set my power savings settings to minimum screen brightness and then used this app to increase brightness

ok it seems to be chanign the gamma settings. So no battery life saving.
