My sources are indicating Fujitsu will finally announce the 1.2 MHz processor next week. I hope that's the case.

Do you think it's just going to be a processor update or will there be a remodel?

Seeming how Fujitsu likes to use Integration so you can't change anything; I bet it will just be a processor upgrade.

They will probably also add the newer Intel wireless card.

It will definitely be the processor as the main feature with possibly some smaller things like the Intel card noted above. I'll stick with the Atheros though most likely.

You like the Atheros better? If so, then why?

Have you tested the new Intel 2915ABG?

portableone is selling the 1.2 P7000. at least it's an option on their site now, but i'm assuming it's pre-orders for it.

I like the Atheros because it supports Super G.

I heard Fujitsu plans on shiping starting 3/15.

intel have a varient of their i915 chipset designed for thin and lights with the following features:
single channel DDR2 (no DDR support)
    400 FSB
    and clocked down graphics
I guess that's what fujitsu will be using since it will generate less heat due to the reduced graphics (+ less power consumption) and anyway ULV CPUs don't support 533 FSB, so there is no loss in that area. And finally the bandwidth offered by the single channel DDR2 should be more enough for such processors. + it would be a way to keep costs down a bit.

Those are just my predictions, don't shoot me if I am wrong [ :p]

So, if you are right and that is the chipset they use in the new US P7K, would that be an improvement over the current model in most/all areas?

Or are there reasons to prefer the current model?

The biggest reason to wait is there's no price increase for the new model. We're talking a few days at this point anyway.

It seems my predictions were wrong [B)]
The new P7 with 1.2 CPU is now available at fujitsu's site. It still uses the old chipset and hence DDR 333.
So I am guessing it's the same identical machine with just a different CPU.
