    hi
I just have a question for N3530 owners..
    on the fujitsu website
I see that the weight of N3530 is 7.9 pounds (it's the core duo model not pentium M)
on cnet review I see that it's 7.5 pounds

    so..
    what's its actual weight?
    is it that heavy?

Thank you for any answer in advance ^^

Well, I don't own one and I doubt if there is anyone here who has actually got one yet because it is so new. But I would be inclined to believe that Fujitsu's own spec of 7.9 is correct. CNet probably just misquoted it. I haven't actually picked one up, but another forum member named tsy has and they said it was pretty heavy.

For what it's worth, if you're considering it but not sure because of the weight, don't let 0.4 pounds scare you; we're talking about the weight of a T-shirt.

Yeah its pretty heavy. Held a N3520 at my local Fry's and you certainly would be uncomfortable on your lap. But the screen is reaaly amazing.

    Look at its competition..

    Sony FE series .. 6.1lb
    Mackbook Pro ....5.6lb
    Toshiba M100 ....5.2lb
    Asus A6J............ I think about 6lb

Note all the above are core duo notebooks with dedicated GPUs

IMO the N3500s are pretty heavy for that class of machines. I got one (the older P-M) before my current and found that since it is that heavy anyway I'll just go 17" and benifit from the Full keyboard.

That said, the build quality is amazing and probably the reason behind the extra weight and if you don't mind it it's a great pick.

And as others said, 0.4lb really makes no difference once you hit 7lb mark ... that is the weight of a notebooks optical drive (just so that you get an idea)
