As a result of a recommendation accident (see service thread) I am stuck with a N3530. But I can't use ATI graphics and I would much prefer a 64 bit chip.

Did anybody try yet to stuff a Core2Duo into one of these?

Is the graphics cards removable and does it match any other notebook's type so that I can maybe plug in a NVidia card? Even Intel integrated graphics would be better for me.

Who is the actual maker of this mode, anyway?

fujitsu has as far as i remember, never used nvidia gpus. i doubt the gpu is upgradeable even if it were removable. you can't put in an integrated card, considering that they are part of the motherboard. as far as core 2 duo, i haven't seen anyone try to test if it works without a bios update....

I think the first step for me is to find out who the actual maker of the notebook is.

Since Fujitsu doesn't provide anything any BIOS update probably has to come from there.

If they used the same or a similar mainboard for a different vendor who wanted NVidia then there might be a doughterboard available from that route. Assuming it is a daughterboard in first place.

something tells me that is probably not possible. fujitsus are probably built by some large notebook manufacturer (e.g. compal, quanta). however, the fujitsu was the one who actually designed everything, while the manufacturer just built it according to their specifications (at least their lifebook line...not the amilos). one problem you will run into trying to find another motherboard is that the port placements are very different notebook to notebook. so even if you can find a similar motherboard, you moste likely won't be able to get the ports on the motherboard to fit the openings on the chassis. good luck though.
