    Hi all,
I have a Fujitsu 4020D, and I have this problem where my mouse gets all sluggish and freezes, every time the computer "thinks" a little bit more (I can also hear the fan going at it, at the same time, although not necessarily).
This happens when programs load, when scrolling through files, basically when using more resources.
When I try to move the mouse it moves, but "jitters" and doesn't move smoothly, it jumps according to my movement, but it is very hard to control it.

After a while the problem stops and goes back to normal, but whenever I use more resources it happens again.

Yesterday I used the restore-CD that came with the computer from Fujitsu, because I got tired of this mouse problem.
I didn't even install anything else after restoring, and the problem reoccurred (!)

    Specs:
    CPU: 2 GHz
    RAM: 1.5 GB

Someone please help, this is one of the most annoying problems I've ever encountered.
I tried upgrading the mouse drivers too but it didn't help...

    Thanks!

A virus/spyware/etc. is, unfortunately not the case here. And I said "unfortunately", because if it were, I could clean it easily. :)

The problems occurs even though I restored everything to its original state (using the Fujitsu restore-CD), so it must be something basic like drivers/windows....

I tried updating the drivers as well, but it did not help.
I tried to see if uninstalling the drivers would help too, but it didn't..

It happens also with a USB mouse, and not only on the touchpad..
And it also happens when the USB mouse isn't connected.. :)

    Thanks mate.

ran a search for your "Fujitsu 4020D" couldn't find it!

search for the name of the touchpad software house and see if there is a seperate driver\software package you can d\l and try.

edit: found a review > here! it mentions a driver update tool! have you used it yet?

I had that on my old laptop too.
Just a wild guess here but I think it has something to do with the motherboard.
I tried everything to fix it but I didn't find a solution.
So the only thing you really can do is take it down to repair.

Actually, I haven't, but I did go and got it checked. And I was told that it is probably the mobo. It the jitter goes on and off for me so it's tolerable, so I just didn't bother getting it fixed since I didn't have warranty... You should take it down to a local repair shop and let them take a look and see what they say. I just hope you still have warranty..

check bios settings. had the same problem until disabled a setting that only for non usb support. so if using a usb mouse disable it.
