Too old for fancy names, anyway, My Lifebook T series 4020D gets extremely hot on the back, left, bottom side at the exhaust vent area. It never locks up but I also never hear a fan. Shouldn't I hear a cooling fan (cpu fan?) occassionally ?
I can't keep it on my "lap" without something to put between me and my tablet.
Any ideas or is this just how hot the tablet gets??
Im a tech and none of the other systems I work on (laptops) get this hot but I don't usually get inside the cases. Dell, HP. etc.

Have you tried cleaning out the fans? Considering it a fairly old notebook, there might well be a load of dust in there. Also, Undervoltign goes pretty well with pentium M notebooks. Try notebook hardware control you can monitor temps and undervolt.
