I have lifebook 5020 that keeps on powering off. the first thing i did is to clean the cpu fan, reseating and replacing memory. wiggling the power connector to laptop is not the problem either. it keeps on powering off after several minute on battery or a/c. the only thing to power it back on is to removed battery and put it back on. try to reseat also cmos battery. try to clean hard drive and format but can not seem to install os because it keeps on powering down. clean battery terminals. check power supply brick on voltage and its working. one thing i noticed after removing batteries and plugging direct to a/c notebook will not power on. try to hold the power button for few minute like my thinkpad to clear does not seem to work either. i was thinking it might be the motherboard is the culprit. Pls. help!
