well, I think I can safely answer my question with a 'NO' but I thought I would ask just in case I missed something since I'm really starting to go crazy looking for a lappy

so is there a Fujitsu that has the following:

    - 15" XGA (or 15.4" WXGA - with no-stretch scaling option)
    - NON GLOSSY !!!!! screen
    - dedicated video (9600+/x600+ would be nice, but something lesser would do)
    - secondary drive bay battery available

    thanks

I think the Fujitsu E8020 would suit you very nicely!

You have a choice of a non glossy screen in XGA or SXGA+. It comes with the option of adding the ATI X600 GPU. It also has a modular DVD bay which i believe also will also accomodate a modular battery. Go check it out!

thanks for the quick reply... however - I think I've been looking at that one already a while ago, and even got quite excited about it, but it seems that it's either glossy XGA or non-glossy SXGA; no non-glossy XGA (?) :(

(looking at fujitsu canada website; also portable one since I can't find any 8xxx available on any canadian store's site)

of course, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong :)

Sorry, you are correct! The models in the states/canada only have the options you stated. We have one additional model in Asia, the non-cv XGA.

Im sure the SXGA+ is not a bad option. Have you had a look at it in real life?

    Sorry for the confusion.

are you serious, I'll just be really peed off now... :(

I would really like to see it, but I haven't found one anywhere around here yet. SXGA is too much for 15", but I'd like to see how well it scales to XGA

IMHO, you'll be fine with 15" SXGA+ resolution. Text might be small on a 14" screen though.
