Hey, I was watching an MPG-2 file lastnight in bed (Eddie Izzard=hilarious) and noticed the bottom left/front area of the P5 was extremely hot![:0] Almost too hot to touch!

Has anybody noticed this on theirs? The unit was sitting on the bed. Is that bad?

I noticed mentions of the P5 running cool for some owners. Anybody have any issues with heat?

I think Brian takes his laptop to bed with him as well, you'll have to ask him [ ;)]

One reason you might have had problems is if the fan output was covered by sheets or something. Also, sheets are made to insulate heat and not carry heat away as normal surfaces will (such as formica, metal or wood that would act as a desk) so your going to gain some heat due to that.

I don't use mine in bed thank you very much...or at least not often. You may have covered up the heat vents, as I've not experienced anything like this.

Yes, my bed is quite cushy.[ ;)]We like it that way. But perhaps the P5 does not.[xx(] I think watching an MPEG file playing off the harddrive really makes the drive work a lot too, no? That would make sense and explain a lot of the heat buildup.I'll have to watch the same file in another setting and see if it makes a difference.
