    Hi all ,

    As the question says, i wana upgrade ram for Fujitsu s6231, and the user manual mention this ,

    Memory

    * DDR 333 so-DIMM, 200 pin SDRAM
    * 2 DIMM slots; upgradeable to 2 GB total memory (1 GB x 2)

    , so that means that

    1) i will have to buy a ram with 333 mhz only ? or can i buy ram with 667mhz to upgrade it?

    2) must i get 2 same ram or can i get 2 different ram, like 1 of 1gb and 516 mb ?

    PLease answer me as im a noob in Computer matters. THanks

    I don't know much about your notebook, but you would need to get the 200-pin DDR-333 (PC-2700) SoDIMM Modules.

    You can buy PC-3200 or DDR-400 modules, but they will downclock to DDR-333. So no sense, in spending extra. Stick to what the manual states.

    You can get two different modules, such 1GB + 0.5GB = 1.5GB, no problems. But get a 2GB kit, because if that machine supports dual channel memory, you will get a small boost due to DC.

    EDIT: If you are a bit confused with DDR modules, check out this article.

    i see, i get what u mean, thanks for answering,

    and this lead to more question, (after reading the link to wikipedia)

    because i see some ram(ddr2) are slighty cheaper than ram(ddr), so is it possible i use ram(ddr2) instead of ram (ddr) ?
    i doubt so, but can someone clarify for me please.thanks
