I just received my P7010D and I absolutely love it. I am a little nervous about the screen being scratched by the keyboard. Is this paranoia justified? Is this something that happens often? Does the fact that my laptop does not have a screen latch increase my chances of it being scratched? I will be carrying it around in a Shinza laptop sleeve that fits a little snuggly. Will this increase my chance of the screen getting scratched by the keyboard? Is there anything I can do to prevent this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Ash, good thinking, but no, you don't need to worry about it any more. In the prior P7000 there were only two stoppers and there was some threat of key rub. But now there are four stoppers on the top of the screen and an extra layer of protection isn't needed.

Just be careful when you close the lid, the last 1/8" travel or so of the lid as it closes is kinda spring loaded and if you hands slip the lid will slam down a bit. I always gently lower mine till it closes properly.

If you hibernate the laptop and it turns on when you open the lid, change the settings so that this doesn't happen. If you don't your P will have a life of its own and could power on by itself, this would not be good if your P is stashed away in the sleeve. Do a search under my username to see what settings need to be changed to prevent this.
