Interested in hearing what you think about this new convertible expected to come out in Dec 2013.

The T904 will have an IGZO display, Reportedly, the newest iPad's IGZO displays reduced display power consumption by 57%. As displays account for much of a laptop's power consumption, this may mean improved battery times.

Based on the price of the U904, I shudder to think what this will cost...

I don't trust the hinge at the fujitsu 904. Having to many trouble at my actual asus notebook with the hinge.
Same at the Vaio Flip 13. Beautiful light Notebook if it would have the yoga hinge system (except the noisy fan :/ ).

Sony is trying to dismiss any concern with that video, but I believe the yoga hinge will last longer. I would like to use that notebook more then 3 years..

So compared to Thinkpad Yoga Fujitsu has
+ way better screen (FHD IPS vs. WQHD IGZO)
    + 3G/LTE
    + User-exchangeable battery
    - Hinge (Flip vs. bi-directional rotatable displey)

Is it possible to change the HD/SSD yourself on T904?

    Here's a hands-on video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jkw4ZJACoEs

The hard drive is removable, and i think i have read it somewhere that it uses SATA III format, which makes it much easier to find and replace a ssd

I'm also very skeptical about the Fujitsu rotating hinge system, but it seems that Fujitsu has been making these hinges for 5+ years now, so I wonder if they've perfected it.

Has anyone owned previous Fujitsu models with these rotating hinge system and what was your experience?

Does have better paper specs at moment
is missing trackpoint and I wonder if the keyboard is as good
If it came under $1,900 it could be an option
to bad it isn't out now and customizable

I've got a T732, and the hinge works fine.

Seems durable enough, and it hasn't loosened much or at all these past few months.

You can ask the other guys at Tablet PC Review about theirs.

I've had the T900 for over 3 years with daily use and no problems with the hinge. I've got a 750G HD in it that's almost full. Guess I'll have to figure out which 250G to archive when I get the T904...

The T904 will have 4G capabilities. How does this work in the US? Do you just buy a Sim card at Verizon with a data plan and no phone (voice)? Does Verizon do that?

I have a T5010 that I bought around 2008. This was the model before the T9XX series. Have absolutely no issues with the laptop till date. Used the tablet for 3 yrs in school every day. Laptop (including hinge) is still perfect as new.

I have owned a Fujitsu TH700 for the past 3 years. Regularly flipping the screen on that hinge -- it is sturdy. In fact, the ones on T902 is much more rugged. I am sure the 904 is likely going to be better. It is their very top of the line.

The hinge for Yoga may seem sturdier - but with the keys facing down... what good is a laptop with hinge intact but keys all broken and missing?

Oh c'mon release this baby already!

    Wacom companion - overpriced
    Thinkpad yoga - poor screen
    Vaio flip - pitiful

Looks like the t904 is the artists last hope.

I have a 5 year old T5010 and the hinge still works great. Don't confuse Fujitsu with low end companies.
Fujitsu is known to make some of the best tablets in the world. Also , Fujitsu invented the iPad.

i agree wacom companion pricey for old tech ..the one thing about the t904 i like the look of is the fact you can chenge the battery and allso its got the new screen which has nearly a 100 percent colour gamut....would have liked 16gb ram but 8 is better than 4 i suppose ..sony flip not bad but battery life could have been sooooo better ..duo 13 very good machine ,but i just still like the feel of wacom over n-trig ..im happy with my t902 but that gorgeous screen with a near 100 percent colour gamut is what ive been after for a long time...

The t902 is a fantastic machine, it's only the low res that puts me off. Otherwise perfect, I still might buy it if fujitsu goof the t904 (though unlikely) :)

That's the price in the Czeck Republic. For comparison, the U904 is $1400 in the US, compared with $2400 (€1750) in the Czech Republic. You can expect that similarly the T904 will be a thousand dollars cheaper in the US compared to the CZ.

The base U904 model costs £1350 ($2200) in the UK, $1400 in the US, $2400 in the Czech Republic. The price hike between the U904 and the T904 in CZ is 12.5%, you can make your own guess for the price in the US and the UK.

The prices are commonly comparable in local currency, and there is no need to rehash this story: in Serbia, we get another 10% price premium on high end machines (low end ones are comparable). IOW, a price in dollars in US would translate to the roughly the same number of GBP or EUR in UK/Europe. At least Fujitsu keeps the CTO pricing up for US, unlike other manufacturers :)

Also note that in US, listed price does not include the state tax (which is 8% in at least California), and UK/EU prices include ~20% VAT.

Fujitsu announced that it will be available in January 2014 since the first press release in October, the reviews were misinformed. It's already available in some stores in Europe, should be landing in the official USA Fujitsu store any day now.

I checked the Fujitsu affiliate shops in CZ, PL, and DE and they've all delayed the T904 ship date to March 3rd. I hope the US release date is still on track for early January.

I emailed Fujitsu last week and they told me that the T904 will be released in Canada late February. I guess the situation is similar in the US.

So far I have ordered a TP Yoga, but I am very tempted to wait for the T904 (but I don't like the $1000+ extra compared to the TP Yoga).

I am not sure I know what MSRP stands for. Are you wondering about how I know the T904 will be $1000+ compared to TP Yoga (for the setup I am interested in, i7, 8 GB ram, 256 GB SDD, digitizer, ...)? It's just an estimate I did based on the current prices of T902 and U904.

A US rep told me Friday the only information she has is that it would be out in mid January.

I'm on the same fence as you. I think I'll just go for the known quantity too. It's hard to go wrong with a ThinkPad. If nothing else we will enjoy its keyboard (and maybe its more legacy font-friendly resolution) better.

MSRP = Manufacturer Suggested Retail Price.
If they want to stay somewhat competitive, hopefully they will be around $1799 given that their new Ultrabook with 3200k resolution is $1599 on their website

The U904 base model (i5, 6GB RAM, 500GB HDD) is $1350 on Newegg. The T904 looks to be a bit more sanely priced than its $2000 predecessor.

Huh, I saw that, how it was listed as available in March. Checking it again just now, however, shoes Early January again.

I'm in the U.S. I called about a week ago to ask about it's release date and price. The woman I spoke to said it would probably be out at the end of January or in the beginning of February.

Well this really sucks. I've been waiting since October 2013 for the T904 to get released, and I don't think I can wait till March 2014 (if it even comes out then).

I think I'm gonna have to go with the Thinkpad Yoga, I just can't wait that long for an upgrade from my current laptop.

It's the same as the T904 just rebranded under the FMV brand for Japanese market I think.
