Hi, my hard drive on my Fujitsu C2210 just died and am looking to replace it. Tech support told me the largest drive I can put in there is a 160GB ATA100 drive, so I am considering putting in the Seagate ST9160821A and was wondering if anyone knows how to remove the old drive. I have found it underneath the floppy drive. Anyone have instructions on how to remove it? I couldn't find anything in the manual, although they have instructions on upgrading the memory.

    Thanks

hey there, to replace a HDD on C2210 is fairly easy.

It's underneath the floppy drive, so all you have to do is carefully unscrew the screws on the floppy drive, carefully take it apart, note, there is a ribbon cable connected on the floppy, so u gotta be very careful. remove the ribbon cable on the floppy.

    2. once u have floppy removed, you will see the HDD and two screws,u need to remove two screws and then the metal bracket to hold the hdd can be taken out.

    3. once the metal is being taken out, u can carefully remove the hdd, all u have to do is to remove the hdd from the 40pins. just push it a little, it will go loose and u can move the hdd out.

good luck and sorry English isnt my first language, i might not clearly express well.

They're wrong. This is the biggest hard drive you can put in your machine. I don't know what you're recovery discs are, but at least service pack two is required to see hard drives larger than 137GB, service pack four if you're running 2K.
