My girlfriend's Fujitsu S6231 needs the recovery disk or OS reinstall. She's living in the U.S. now, but her laptop was purchased in Korea. Here's the reply I got from Fujitsu America:

    Dear ******,

    Thank you for your inquiry.

I understand you need the recovery disk for your system that was
    purchased in Korea.

Since this system was purchased in Korea you will need to contact Korea
for any O/S or software disk that came with the system.

    Fujitsu Korea (International Helpdesk)

    Helpdesk Location: Seoul, Korea
    Helpdesk Phone: 001-82-2-3787-5611-3
    Helpdesk FAX: 001-82-2-701-3519
    Helpdesk Email: [email protected]
    Business Hours: 9:00AM - 5:30PM (GMT + 0900), Monday - Friday 9:00AM -
    1:00PM (GMT+ 0900), Saturday

So, Fujitsu Korea services any Fujitsut laptop regardless of the current location? lol

um no this post is completely unnecessary, if she purchased the laptop in Korea then it probably came with a Korean OS, I don't know, and possibly a different keyboard, again I have no idea.

Fujitsu has service centers all over the US and in many other Countries.

obviously Fujitsu has abundant International service as it is a Japanese company that sells and supports products all over the world.

talk to Ivan at portableone.com and he can point you in the right direction, even though they are no longer a Fujitsu service center.

Depends on your warranty on the intl issue. Anyway, I own a 6231 myself, bought from Fujitsu USA. Send me a private message, perhaps I can help you.

Thanks. I had a friend go to the Fujitsu Service Center in Korea and he mailed me the recovery disks. Fujitsu USA was zero help. They just flat out refused to even bother with the notebook, since it was not purchased in the U.S.

i think the thing is that they probably don't have the korean os, so since it is a software issue of software they don't have, they are asking you to contact korean customer support. that is my take anyway.
