I just purchased a Fujitsu 6220 after having another Fujitsu.

When it arrived, it made a noise which I'd never heard a laptop make before. It was ticking loudly in sync with the drive light. Sounds like internal calculations or whatever, but it seemed odd I'd never heard it it another laptop before.

I returned it to the manufacturer (bought direct from Fujitsu) to have it checked out. I was informed something was wrong with it and they had to replace a part. More than two weeks later, they said the part was on back order and they didn't know when my computer would be returned to me. I objected naturally and said if you can't fix my new computer, then send me a "new" new computer or refund the sale. My machine was overnighted back to me, supposedly repaired, I had to to install Windows again, etc.

It's not making the noise as often or as loudly, but it's still there. I knowwhat the fan sounds like. I know what the hard drive sounds like. Can someone please tell me I'm not being paranoid and it's just something this particular model does?

    Thanks!

I have a gateway 7805u and it does the same thing, its not loud though, how loud is yours? Is it like a droplet of water or louder? If its then I wouldn't worry because Ive been told its the hard-drive sensor or something like that. But dont take my word for it because Im not 100% sure.
