Is it true that Fujitsu is ending their S6000 series of notebooks (with the S6310 & S6311 being the last in the series)?

That's a bummer. I originally wanted to buy the S6310 but hesitated because of this. Wouldn't it be a problem to get parts and service for a notebook line that has been discontinued? Am I over reacting and there's nothing to worry about?

    I'd appreciate everyone's feedback. Thanks!

Yeah I heard that as well. I wouldn't fret to much about it. Its not like Fujitsu is going anywhere.

yea, they wont make them anymore, but they will definitely have the parts for it if repair is needed. they might even offer trade for a s7xxx if in the worst case they dont have any parts to repair.

I would say good riddance to the poor design of the S6000 series, the S6220 in particular.

It's time they moved on to better designs and not sell units with inherent design flaws to customers.

The Q2010 is the "replacement" in the U.S. for the S6000. Although it's nothing like it and not a very practical or remotely affordable laptop -- so I think it's sad to see the S6000 leave the North American market. It is still available in Asia with a Core Duo update.

I really like the S6000. The couple I saw were very nice indeed.

So the S6000 series is just dead in North America, but it's alive and apparently Core-Duo refreshed in Asia??
