Ok, there have been a thousand questions asked about Fujitsu's refreshes, largely because Fujitsu makes awesome ultra ports and thin and lights. So here's an updated piece on what we know:

P7000 series - update for the P5020. Will be a little lighter, the black look that the S6210 has, will get a PM 1.1 and a CV screen. This is due out in the next month or two.

S6210 - This is the refresh that gets the CV screen and a new body. It will start shipping in the next several weeks, most places are taking orders for these now. Dothan won't happen until the current batch of PM processors is sold through.

S7000 series refresh - This unit will get Dothan, but won't be released for another few weeks, presumably waiting for the Dothan models to start rolling off the lines. It will also not feature CV as Fujitsu wants to have some models without it because there are sill many (me included) who don't care for reflective screens. The refresh announcement could come as early as the next week or two.

That's all I know right now, I'll do my best to keep you posted.

So are you saying that the S6210 will be black in color?
Are there any pictures on the web that show it.

Also, is the CV screen of the S6210 annoying in that is shows reflections, etc. Is it a bad idea to get a notebook with CV screen?

Whether the CV screen is bad or not depends entirely on you. I have one, and I love it, even though I can see all the lights up and behind me reflecting in it. I don't usually focus on the lights, so it doesn't bother me. What you 'see' is what you focus on, like the picture where some folks see an old lady and some see a young girl. There both there, it's just a matter of what catches your eye. If you find the reflection on your CRT annoying, you won't like the CV screens.

Thanks Brian, for the update. Almost ordered a Dell 300m until I discovered this site...have made up my mind to get the S6210 instead.

The S6210 will be black in color? I was hoping it would be the same silver casing as before...

Also, when do you think the current batch of PM processors will be sold through?

Also, a general question...I've heard Fujitsu is pretty slowing with filling orders? How long does it take usually to get a laptop? I'm planning to order one through a local dealer...

On Speed of filling an order I would try Portableone (www.laptopsinc.com) I know of 2 laptops(both S7010D)ordered from them about 3 weeks apart. I ordered mine on Monday and has it on Thursday.

Yeah, laptops inc. is the way to go for ordering Fujitsu. As for color, the shell is still silver, but the inside is darker. It's seen best here:

On the CV screen issue, I don't really like them because they're so reflective. Some people love this though. It would likely take me a while to get used to it.

As for PM inventory, I have no idea when they'll convert the S6210 to Dothan. It could be a few weeks or much much longer. For this category, I'm not sure there are a ton of benefits by waiting for Dothan anyway.

Oh no, wcyu325, you're doing the right thing going for Fujitsu instead of Dell 300m. New S6000 series, S6210 is much better than S6120: Lighter, CV screen, 333 RAM, option of HD @ 5400rpm, option of DVD+-R. It still has magnesium alloy frame, but now is black inside, on the palm rest area and so. Keyboard is much much better old S6000 and S2000 series. Altough S6210 doesn't have neither IrDA, nor port replicator at bottom, you can use a USB 2.0 dock station if you want. Fujitsu is fast as they can with orders. I'll rate them 9/10[8D]
    Cheers,
    K.
