Hey, for more than 2 years I had that overheating problem aswell when I finally sent the stuff into service where they changed the gfx card, but ofcourse after bout half a year it started again. I used the NHC acpi tweak which works totally awesomely btw, I ain't frying eggs on it anymore. But because I'm using Ubuntu 9.04 atmmnt I want the same thing in there, with fan running at max... but after about 2-3 days of extensive searching I can't find anything that could make this possible...so anyone know a solution? Except stop using Ubuntu :p
    Thanks guys
Oh and btw, anyone had any luck with installing the latest drivers for ati on ubuntu? And even maybe on Win, still using the olds ones but thought about updating some few year old drivers...

edit: it's fan not fap ><
