I have the xi1526 and have been running bios 1.17 with windows vista without a problem. Browsing the fujitsu support section I saw an update available 1.20 with vista support (whatever that means) so downloaded it and flashed it without a problem.

Now as soon as windows boots the fan starts to build up and continues till its mach4. It doesnt switch off at all. Even before at full load on a summers day ive never heard it spin this high.

Any suggestions? Is it something to do with vista or perhaps a bug. If im in the bios or during boot it doesnt start. Will downgrade again if nothing can be done, so annoying.

    cheers for any help

Yes, I would revert back to the 1.17 BIOS. That BIOS was fine, and it fixed all the issues the notebook had previously. The same BIOS is used on the Xi1546. However, it could be the procesor or graphics card which is becoming hot and the fan is forced to come on. I would download a temperature monitoring program and look at some of the temperatures. I doubt this will be a problem, as your notebook seemed to be fine fan wise, before the BIOS update.

Yes, try Mobmeter or another program that works with Vista, we cannot say anything now.

    Mach4, that is a nice one ;)
