    Amilo A1630 2gb ram anyone tried it??

    Hello everyone i'm new to the forum but hope i can be of use.
    i know the fujitsu siemens Amilo A1630 inside out so if you've got anything to ask please do.
    but i do have a question? :D
    Has anyone ever tried putting 2gb ram into the Amilo A1630 i know it's only supposed to support 1 gb but i have read somewhere that it was possable can someone confirm this

    (I don't have a Fujitsu) but I think a BIOS upgrade (to a version that supports 2GB) will do the trick.

    well i have the latest bios 1.05 but it does not say any thing about max memory how could i find out??

    Well i can confirm to all A1630 users i have now downloaded the lastest bios for the laptop version 1.05 and the laptop now supports 2gb 2 x 1gb sticks hooray!!!!!! :D

    Hi guys! Im wondering where you got hold of the newest bios update, cause I can only find the 1.04 drivers at fujitsu simens drivers page.

    Nice tread it will be awsome to get 2gb of ram!

    no you should only use PC2700 and to be honest you wouldn't even see the differance in it it's about 70 nano seconds
